Edit 2: Added new entries! Also all links take you directly to the post.
Edit 3: Added more entries! All links are now directly to the post, no teasers. =)
Hello ladies!!
The entries are in and are currently being updated throughout the day. My apologies if I missed you; please drop a comment and I’ll fix that quickly. Before getting to my entry, I'd like to link everyone entry first.
I was annoyed at how difficult this month's challenge was... I was pretty much stumped until the beginning of this week when I realized since I'm the host, I can't just link everyone's entry and not have my own. It was an annoyance...ugh. So I pulled my butt out of the kitchen, take off my adorable flower apron to put something together... you'll have to excuse the poor quality of the pictures (recently just gave my baker in training sister my camera) and how awfully messy my apartment is at the moment. We just had a battle with some unwanted visitors and am in the process of moving out as well.
In my typical style:

I'd probably wear this outfit minus the heels. The heels are on the high side, maybe aroun 3.5 inches. I'm a high heels noob... so after trying them on for a bit to take these pictures, my feet were throbbing.

I like being comfortable because I have really sensitive skin... which is partly why I don't like jeans. I like as few clothes and accessories as possible so I'm very careful of texture, materials and color. Just a pop of color.
Putting a spin on the outfit to give it a chic feel, I decided to look at my younger sister for inspiration. Keeping the tunic as my transitioning piece, I decided to use items that are out of my comfort zone, such as heels, jacket and silk-like scarf.

Eek, just realize I didn’t follow my own challenge directions… epic fail. -__-
It's too bad those heels hurt; they look fabulous! I like the skirt + leggings + high heels look; usually, I only wear skirts with leggings and boots. I'll have to try the skirt, leggings, and high heels combination some time. Thanks for the inspiration and thank you for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSmashing! You look fabulous! Thank you again for hosting!
ReplyDeleteXOXO kiki
Aw the heels are adorable though! I like how you cinched in the waist for your second outfit. : ) Thanks for hosting this month, Gracie!
ReplyDeleteIs Couture Petite a blog? I don't understand how her site works! haha Can't find the entry..or maybe she didn't post one.
ReplyDelete@Jessy, I was confused about the blog also. I'll have to look a little closer after I figure out how to navigate through it.
ReplyDeletelol, I was thinking the same thing... it's too advanced..
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Gracie! Too bad about the shoes being painful! They really are cute. :)
ReplyDeleteLove all the elements you put into your night look. If you do wear it out, please keep the heels! They make the outfit :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for hosting, Gracie!
Hey that's an interesting way to wear that top, I like it over the leggings and with the blazer!
ReplyDeleteSorry my post didn't go up on time - the scheduling thing didn't work and I just got home :(
here's the link: http://www.torontobeautyreviews.com/2011/06/petite-fashion-challenge-8-spinning.html
Wow! You took such a casual simple outfit and turned it into something amazing! Great job :) And I understand you about the high heels. I don't even wear heels out of the house because my mom said I walk like a straight man in heels!
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting, Gracie! This was a tough one : ) I didn't participate but I love reading the entries and will be sure to share this tomorrow. I love how your transformed your ensemble. It looks so long and lean. And I like your Talbot's shoes. Don't they have some nice high heels for what's supposedly for women over the ages of 40?
ReplyDeleteAnyways, surprised I haven't run into you yet in the city!
Love this look! I like the 'pops' of color in your first outfit especially.
ReplyDeleteOh and I just posted my outfit for this challenge but my blog name isn't linked yet.
Thanks,
Liza
Hi there! Love your challenge outfit! Those heels are soooo pretty! I published an entry tooo! Can you put my link on your chart? Thanks!

Oooh I love the new spin on the look. Too bad the heels hurt you. Maybe with more practice?
ReplyDeleteI hate heels too but you know what, you look great!! I hope you can find some that work better for you. Love the variation on your everyday outfit :) Thank you for hosting PFC 8!
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I'm so sorry I had to miss out on this one:( I like the shoes and accessories you incorporated:)
ReplyDelete@Quest For Fashion sense, =P I'm glad I could suggest you some new ways of pairing clothes. I wasn't sure if it'd work because I thought the legging/heels together would look funny.
ReplyDelete@Kiki, I absolutely love the fact that you used the word smashing. The Boyfriend's going to complain about my abuse of that word soon.
@Alterations Needed, did you noticed the ball/foot pad in my heels? Thanks for the informative post on fixing large heels. I failed at placing it correctly though. -__- haha.
@Cee, I'm going to try to test it out on a date with the Boyfriend. I just hope he doesn't complain about me walking too slow.
@Elaine, Thanks for providing the link! It's up. Annnd, don't be sorry... I've had my fair share of lateness as well. =)
Thanks Gracie for hosting! I apologize my teaser, but I'll put up my link soon. I think you did a great job with the black outfit, it's a nice dressy version of what you really wear and it satisfies the challenge requirement. =)
ReplyDelete@Kimberly, LOL about your mom's comment. I remember someone once told me I look like a duck when I walk in heels.
ReplyDelete@PAG, I know! They have really nice heels! I work in cambridge, and the only places I ever get to venture in Boston is sorta around the Prudential Center... and maybe that movie theater near Emerson College (Chinatown-ish). The Boyfriend and I are extremely uninteresting people... on old folks level.
@Fashionforteens, I updated the page with your link. I love your outfit, but I'll tell ya more on your comment page. =P
@Petite and Hungry, Got ya cover! I love fellow petite and food lovers!
@HurricaneKerrie, I intend on getting more practice... so hopefully they'll make an appearance in future posts.
@Erin, it was a pleasure hosting the challenge. I hope you enjoyed participating in this one. =)
ReplyDelete@Really Petite, Hi there! Don't feel bad, you still have next month's challenge to stretch the stylist in you. I actually can't wait.. because I also love getting sneak peaks of your home. LOL
@Stylepint, I'll update the link to the post once you have it up. The teaser definitely got me interested! I'm LOVING the combo so far.
Thanks Gracie, the post is up! Here's the link:

I'm the same with sensitive skin, especially when it's warm/hot. I'm usually in skirts in the summer. Enough about me . . . I like the look with heels. Hot mama! I think your cross-legged pose adds sass! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteJen Hemming and Hawing Again
Hello
ReplyDeleteMy post is up too, look forward to reading everyone's. Thank you!
CC
I love your heels, Gracie! I can never walk in heels with the straps in the back.. Probably because most of my shoes don't *actually* fit. ^^;;
ReplyDeleteI added my blog link but it looks like it didn't go up. Here's a link to the actual entry: Couture Petite Fashion Challenge #8
I'm currently working on revamping my site so it might be a little confusing. I apologize for the inconvenience. >.< Everything will be fixed by tomorrow. :)
Thank you so much for hosting! <3
Irene
@Jen, Thanks! I've been trying to work on my sassiness. LOL
ReplyDelete@StylePint and CC, check!
@Irene, your website is so nifty!! I'm liking the work you're doing on it. Looks good.
Love the way you tied that scarf - such a classic touch
ReplyDeleteVery chic indeed! I always look to my younger sister for inspiration as well! High heels are an issue for me too! Hopefully with enough practice, you can wear those heels out proudly! =D
ReplyDeleteThanks Gracie! I'm glad you like it! ^_^
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting Gracie!
ReplyDeleteI think your second outfit looks great! You went from beach casual to night on the town in the city! :)
You'll get used to wearing heels...you'll eventually build the necessary strength in the calves to wear heels :)
-Lor
Love the three concept pictures. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteThanks !!
ReplyDeleteSmashing !! You are looking adorable, fabulous gorgeous....The top most girl in black dress having a pendant in long chain is looking stunning one :))
